Why Black Rock?
Black Rock Grill are a small and innovative new company that specialise in fun and unusual ways of cooking and presenting food.
Primarily serving the commercial market - so their products are made for hard, daily use - they have recently launched a brand new Raclette Grill for the general public.
We believe that we are the first to feature the Black Rock Home Grill which has a 12 month guarantee and is very reasonably priced.
The super heated volcanic rock plate works much like a traditional Swiss or German raclette - just plugging into a mains socket.
Whilst the Black Rock Grill is a very new product, we have seen the commercial version in action and it worked very well. So we decided to take the plunge and feature the home version for our customers.
Why Bodum?
As so many people already know, the Bodum name has become synonymous with excellent design and quality products.
Just to prove that this reputation is justified, the design team won 19 design awards in 2006/7 (7 red dot awards and 12 iF design awards.)
Founded in 1944, the Bodum company is still a family run company, moving from Denmark to Switzerland in 1979 where it still has its manufacturing base. This is a quote from their famous and long standing Director of Design, Carsten Jorgensen: "For more than two decades Bodum has aimed to produce articles that are designed and manufactured to the highest level of functionality and quality, making top design available to everyone throughout the world, thanks to affordable prices. Simplicity and functionality are the basic requirements for a Bodum design. Out of this basic concept grows a shape with a unique and simple beauty."
Bodum now employ 500 people and they have stores in over 9 countries, including much of Europe and the USA.
Why Emile Henry Flame?
Emile Henry is a family run international company dating back to 1850. It still manufactures in France, in Marcigny in Burgundy, employing 200 craftsmen. Marcigny is a small town nestling between the hills of Southern Burgundy and has been home to Emile Henry for the past 150 years. Faithful to its origins, the entire production is carried out here. It now exports to more than 50 countrie, producing over 6 million pieces per year
The Emile Henry Flame range is a brand new innovation combining classic French style ceramic kitchenware and high tech innovation. It is the first ceramic casserole that can be used in direct contact with a flame. I think it is a fantastic, versatile range.
Emile Henry Flame® has a unique ceramic which can be used in the oven, microwave, dishwasher or freezer. It is amazingly strong, highly resistant to thermal shocks (-20°C -> +250°C) and mechanical shocks (ie chip resistant). The hard glaze makes it possible to any metallic utensil inside or to cut directly on the inside with a knife without scratching. This is on top of the traditional benefits of ceramic cookware, which diffuses heat slowly and evenly.
All dishes in the range can be used on stove tops, in the oven and microwave, and can also be easily cleaned in the dishwasher.
Emile Henry is certified according to the international standard ISO 9001.
