Why do you need Fondue Plates?
Posting date: 23rd March 2010 14:20
Well, Fondue Plates are not an absolute necessity when having a fondue - it is not like the requirement to have a fondue set, but we do sell quite a few sets of the Pillivuyt Fondue Plates from France, so customers clearly find them useful.
People use them to put a selection of different dips onto their plates without the dips all merging into a centre pole or swamping their pieces of bread or potato or meat, before these have been put into the fondue. Also, particularly for a meat fondue, it is a good idea to keep the raw meat away from other food that is not going to be cooked.
So very useful but not absolutely necessary.
