Traditional Raclette Recipe

This traditional raclette recipe is for 4 Persons

  • 8 medium potatoes
  • 700g Raclette cheese
  • 1 jar pickled gherkins
  • 4 small onions
  • 24 slices salami or ham
  • freshly ground pepper to taste

You can of course, add any other types of cold meats or vegetables or salad - as you like.


1. Scrub the potatoes clean and steam whole

2. Meanwhile, de-rind the cheese and slice into approx 2mm slices. Arrange on a serving dish

3. Prepare the cold meats, pickles and any salads and arrange on serving dishes

4. When the potatoes are ready, place on the raclette in a bowl to keep warm

5. Switch on the raclette grill ( should only take a few minutes to heat up )

Each person can, takes some cheese and use their little pan to melt it under the grill. When melted to the consistancy they like, then the cheese can be put onto of a potato with ham or salad etc.
